Surf Lessons in Long Beach is a beginner-focused surf school located on the white sands of Long Beach, Perhentian Islands. The lessons are conducted in shallow, warm water with consistent small waves, making it a safe introduction to stand-up surfing. Each session is led by a certified local instructor who provides all necessary equipment and on-beach technique training.
What to expect
- Lessons run for 2 hours, including 30 minutes of dry-land instruction on paddling, popping up, and board positioning
- All equipment is provided: soft-top surfboard, leash, and reef-safe sunscreen
- You will practice catching white-water waves in waist-deep water, with the instructor pushing you into each wave
- Suitable for first-timers and weak swimmers, as the lesson area is roped off from boat traffic
- Group size is capped at 4 students per instructor, ensuring individual feedback on each wave
- You will receive a photo of your best wave taken by the instructor at the end of the session
