About this experience

Horseback Riding in Perhentian Besar is a guided trail ride through the island's jungle and along its eastern beaches, based near the main village. The activity offers a land-based perspective of the Perhentian Islands, contrasting with the typical snorkelling and diving excursions. Rides are led by experienced handlers and are suitable for both beginners and experienced riders.

What to expect

  • Ride duration is approximately 1 hour, covering jungle trails and the shoreline between Coral Bay and Long Beach.
  • Includes a safety briefing, helmet, and a trained horse matched to your skill level.
  • You will pass coconut groves, a small fishing village, and stop at a viewpoint overlooking the turquoise water.
  • Suitable for riders aged 8 and above; weight limit is 90 kg.
  • Morning rides (9:00 AM) offer cooler temperatures and fewer beach crowds, while sunset rides (5:30 PM) provide a different light.
  • Photos are taken by the guide during the ride and can be purchased on a USB stick after the session.
