The Fixx Haleiwa
About
Found on Oahu, The Fixx Haleiwa sits in the historic surf town of Haleiwa, on the North Shore, at 66-250 Kamehameha Hwy G120, Haleiwa, HI 96712, United States. The town draws surfers and day-trippers from Honolulu and Waikiki, both of which lie within reach, and it is a natural stop on a circuit that can continue to Kailua, Lanikai and Waimanalo on the windward side.
Haleiwa itself sits on the island's north coast, a small settlement of plantation-era buildings, food trucks and surf shops. The Fixx Haleiwa is a restaurant in this setting, and a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 100 reviews places it among the better-regarded places to eat on this stretch of coast. Pearl Harbor, west of Honolulu, is another nearby point of interest that brings visitors across the island.
A website at http://thefixxhaleiwa.com/ carries the restaurant's own information for anyone planning a meal. The North Shore is quieter than Waikiki, so a visit here pairs easily with a day spent on the beach or watching the surf.
Hawaii's islands are volcanic in origin, formed as the Pacific Plate moved over a hotspot, and because no road or regular ferry links them, travel between islands is by air. That makes Oahu the practical base for most visitors, with Haleiwa reachable by car from the resort areas. Hawaiian culture includes hula dance, oli chants and the voyaging traditions of Polynesian navigators, all of which give the islands their distinct character.
