Central Union Church Thrift Shop
About
Among Oahu's churches, Central Union Church Thrift Shop runs a second hand shop tied to the church at 1660 S Beretania St., Honolulu, HI 96826, United States. The shop opens on We and Sa from 09:00 to 15:00, giving visitors two windows each week to browse donated goods.
Shoppers can look ahead at the church website, which covers the thrift shop. A 3.2 out of 5 average has been recorded across 29 reviews, a modest tally that reflects a steady local following rather than a tourist draw. The location sits in Honolulu, within reach of Waikiki and Pearl Harbor, making it an easy add-on to a day already spent in the city.
On Oahu, lei garlands made from flowers or shells mark greetings, birthdays and graduations, and thrift shoppers often find such items among the donations. Pidgin is spoken widely across the islands, so a friendly hello may come in Hawaiian Creole English. Plate lunches, poke made from raw fish and kalua pork cooked in an imu earth oven are staples of local eating.
The shop's two-day schedule makes it a weekday and weekend stop for bargain hunters. Its church setting places it among Honolulu's established neighbourhoods. For visitors tracing Oahu's second hand circuit, the shop offers a quiet counterpoint to the island's busier retail strips.
