Tga Box

About

On North Island, TGA BOX operates as a sports centre at 43 Waihi Road, Judea, Tauranga 3110, New Zealand. The Waihi Road address places it in Judea, a suburb on the western side of Tauranga.

TGA BOX is known for its sports centre facilities in Tauranga, and its own site at http://www.tgabox.co.nz/ carries its programme details. First-time visitors should expect a purpose-built sports facility rather than a general leisure complex, with the Waihi Road site serving the surrounding suburbs. Its 4.7 out of 5 average, from 91 reviews, is a strong result that reflects how users rate the facilities.

Reaching the venue from Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua or Taupo is a matter of the roads into Tauranga, and the city sits on a harbour that makes it a natural stop on the Bay of Plenty coast. Tauranga itself appears among the island's main centres, alongside Wellington, Napier and New Plymouth.

English is the main language of New Zealand and te reo Māori is also official, so Māori place names are used throughout the country, including across Tauranga and the surrounding Bay of Plenty. Tūī, kererū and other native birds are common, and dolphins, fur seals and seabirds are seen around the coast. Hāngī, a meal cooked in an earth oven, and the pavlova dessert are both part of the local food culture. New Zealand is a long, narrow group of islands, so almost nowhere in the country is far from the sea.
