Surf Lessons in Magazia is a structured surf school operating on the pebble beach of Magazia on Paxos island. The lessons cater to beginners and intermediate surfers, using the gentle Ionian swell that forms near the harbour wall. Each session combines dry-land technique drills with supervised water time, using soft-top boards and full-length wetsuits.
What to expect
- Lessons run for 90 minutes, with a maximum of four students per instructor
- All equipment is included: soft-top surfboard, wetsuit, leash, and wax
- The session begins with a 20-minute shore-based tutorial on paddling, pop-up, and wave reading
- You will practice catching green waves in the sheltered bay, away from boat traffic
- Suitable for ages 12 and up; non-swimmers are not accepted
- A post-session video review of your pop-up technique is provided on a tablet
