About this experience

Surf Lessons in Mahón is a beginner-focused surf school located on the north coast of Menorca, near the port of Mahón. The lessons take place at Cala Mesquida, a sandy beach with consistent Atlantic swells, and are led by certified instructors. Each session combines land-based technique drills with supervised water time, using soft-top boards and wetsuits provided by the school.

What to expect

Two-hour group lesson includes a 30-minute dry-land warm-up and board handling practice before entering the water.
All equipment is provided: soft-top surfboard, wetsuit, and booties, sized for adults and children aged 8 and up.
Maximum of 6 students per instructor, ensuring individual feedback on paddling, pop-up, and wave selection.
Sessions run at 10:00 and 15:00 daily from June to September, with a 20-minute beach briefing on rip currents and local reef hazards.
After the lesson, you receive a photo link with 5 action shots of your ride, taken by the instructor from the shore.
Suitable for first-timers and those who have surfed fewer than 5 times; no swimming test required, but you must be comfortable in waist-deep water.
