Viewpoints Gallery
About
In Maui, Viewpoints Gallery shows paintings and other works by island artists at 3620 Baldwin Ave #101, Makawao, HI 96768, United States. The gallery sits in Makawao, an upcountry town that shares the island with Lahaina, Kihei, Paia, Kaanapali, Wailea, Hana and Wailuku, so a stop here fits naturally into a drive across the island.
Viewpoints Gallery is known for the art it displays, and its 4.7 out of 5 average across 29 reviews reflects how visitors respond to the work on show. That review total is modest, which suits a gallery of this scale, and the score has held up across every rating recorded. The gallery's website, http://www.viewpointsgallerymaui.com/, carries its details for anyone planning a visit.
First-time visitors should expect a focused exhibition space rather than a large museum, with pieces arranged for close viewing. The setting in Makawao places the gallery within reach of the island's other communities, including Paia, so a visit can be combined with time elsewhere on Maui.
Maui's warm tropical climate keeps daytime temperatures steady through the year, and the wetter months from November to March give way to drier conditions from April to October. English and Hawaiian are both official languages of Hawaii, and Hawaiian words appear widely in place names across the island. Hawaiian culture includes hula dance, oli chants and the voyaging traditions of Polynesian navigators, all of which shape the islands a visitor travels through.
