Lahaina sits on the leeward side of Maui, and the nearby town of Kihei lies south along the coast. The bar's position makes it a straightforward stop for anyone staying in the area.
Trade winds blow from the northeast across Hawaii, bringing most rain to the windward coasts, so the leeward side around Lahaina tends to stay drier. Cars are the main form of transport on the island, and public bus services run on the larger islands, which helps visitors plan an evening out. Two official languages, English and Hawaiian, are used across the islands, and Hawaiian words appear widely in place names.
