Fly Maui
About
In Maui, Fly Maui runs paragliding flights from 89 Kuhea St, Kahului, HI 96732, United States, close to the island's main airport and commercial centre. The business takes clients into the air above Maui's landscape with qualified pilots. What it has become known for is the quality of the flying and the attention given to first-timers, who make up much of the clientele. Beginners can expect a briefing on the ground before launch, with tandem flights available for those without prior flying time.
A 4.9 out of 5 average from 18 reviews reflects strong feedback from those who have flown. Kahului sits on the isthmus between Maui's two halves, so the launch point is within reach of Wailuku, Kihei and Paia. Lahaina, Kaanapali and Wailea lie further west, while Hana and Makawao sit on the opposite side of the island. The 18 reviews represent a modest but consistently positive sample.
Hawaii's volcanic origin shaped the islands as the Pacific Plate moved over a hotspot. Local cooking includes plate lunches, poke made from raw fish and kalua pork cooked in an imu earth oven. Hawaiian monk seals and green sea turtles live in the surrounding waters and haul out on beaches.
