Ħaż-Żebbuġ sits on the road to Mdina, which makes the store easy to reach from the old capital and the towns around it. The islands are low limestone plateaus with terraced fields, no rivers and a rugged coastline, so driving between towns is straightforward.
Local wine, honey and olive oil are produced on the islands, which also have a long tradition of fireworks-making, and village festas put both on show through the summer. First-time visitors should expect a showroom layout and staff on hand during the split opening hours, with the long afternoon break worth planning around.
