About this experience

Surf Lessons in Malta is a guided surf tuition programme offered at selected beaches across the Maltese islands. The lessons are led by certified instructors and provide all necessary equipment, including boards and wetsuits. Sessions run year-round, with conditions suited to both beginners and intermediate surfers.

What to expect

Each lesson lasts 90 minutes, including a 20-minute land-based safety and technique briefing before entering the water.
All equipment is provided: a soft-top surfboard, a 3/2mm wetsuit, and a leash, with sizes available from child to XXL.
You will practise paddling, popping up, and riding white-water waves in a supervised, shallow-water zone at Golden Bay or Ghajn Tuffieha.
Group sizes are capped at 8 participants per instructor, ensuring individual feedback on posture and wave timing.
Lessons are suitable for ages 8 and up, with non-swimmers accommodated using a buoyancy aid and a dedicated shallow area.
After the session, you receive a digital photo set of your ride, taken from the shore, to review your technique.
