Seychelles weather stays hot and humid through the year, and the islands sit outside the main cyclone belt. Seychellois Creole cooking builds on fish, coconut milk, breadfruit, rice and hot chilli, so meals lean on the sea and the garden. Moutya, a dance with drums and call-and-response singing, is listed by UNESCO as a traditional Seychellois art. The granitic inner islands, Mahé among them, differ from the low coral atolls of the outer Seychelles, which are mostly uninhabited.
