Diving & Snorkeling in Calheta is a guided underwater activity based at the Calheta beach on Porto Santo island. What to expect
- Duration is 2.5 hours total, including 40-50 minutes underwater for certified divers and 30 minutes for snorkelers.
- All gear is included: mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, and weights; dive tanks and regulators are provided for certified divers.
- You will swim along the Calheta reef wall, observing groupers, damselfish, and occasional sea turtles in depths of 3 to 12 metres.
- For snorkelers, a shallow sheltered bay adjacent to the dive entry point offers calm water and sandy patches with seagrass beds.
- Sessions suit beginners and families, with a PADI instructor accompanying every group and a maximum ratio of 4 divers per guide.
- A pre-dive briefing covers local currents, hand signals, and marine life identification, followed by a post-dive logbook stamp.
