About this experience

Restaurants & Dining in Ly Son Town is the primary culinary hub on Ly Son Island, located in the town centre of Ly Son District, Quang Ngai Province. The dining scene centres on fresh seafood hauled daily by local fishermen, alongside garlic-infused dishes from the island's famous fields. Visitors eat at casual family-run eateries and open-air stalls that line the main roads near the harbour and market.

What to expect

Meals are served from 11:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 21:00, with most dishes arriving within 15 minutes of ordering.
Each meal typically costs 80,000 to 200,000 VND per person, covering a main dish, rice, and a side of raw vegetables.
Signature plates include steamed sea urchin with garlic, grilled squid, and 'gai' cake made from local garlic leaves.
Diners sit on low plastic stools at metal tables, often under a corrugated roof with a view of the fishing boats.
The daily catch list is written on a whiteboard at each eatery, changing at 06:00 and 16:00 when boats return.
This dining style suits travellers who prefer straightforward, no-frills food over ambience, and who are comfortable eating near the road.
