Lombok sits within Indonesia's tropical climate, where the drier season spans roughly May through September, making those months favourable for outdoor snorkeling. Indonesian cuisine on the island is bold and spice-driven, built around rice, satay, grilled fish, and fresh tropical fruit, options travellers can sample locally. Reaching Lombok typically involves domestic flights or fast boats from neighbouring islands, with international airports available on the main Indonesian islands. Indonesian is the primary language, though English is common in tourist areas like Gili Air, easing communication for international visitors.
