About
For a hotel in Lefkada, Athos Hotel holds a score of 4 out of 5 from 200 guest reviews, a dependable record on the island. It sits at 221 Ellomenou, Nidri 310 84, Greece, placing it in the busy harbour village of Nidri on the east coast. Lefkada Town, Nidri, Vasiliki, Agios Nikitas, Kathisma, Porto Katsiki, Egremni and Vassiliki are all within reach, covering the island's main beaches and settlements. The property runs a website at http://www.athoshotel.com/ for bookings and further information.
Monk seals and loggerhead turtles live around the islands, and many have protected nesting beaches, so visitors should keep to marked areas on the sand. Greek is the main language, written in the Greek alphabet, which also appears on road signs and menus, so a translation app helps when driving. Orthodox Easter is the biggest religious festival, and village panigyria mark saints' days through the summer, bringing local music and food to the streets.
The islands split between the Aegean and the Ionian, and Lefkada is joined to the mainland by a bridge, which makes arriving by car simpler than on many Greek islands. The hotel holds a collection of photos showing its rooms and common areas, useful for planning a stay.
Athos Hotel offers a Nidri base for exploring Lefkada's beaches, villages and coastal roads.
