Lanzarote's mild subtropical climate delivers warm, sunny weather through most of the year, with June to September the hottest and busiest stretch. Canarian cooking leans on fresh seafood, goat cheese and papas arrugadas with mojo sauce, dishes found across the island. Aeroplanes link the Canaries with the Spanish mainland, and boats plus brief hops by air join the islands together. Spanish is the everyday language, so a few words help with routine exchanges during a stay.
