Restaurants & Dining in ios is a curated culinary programme on the Greek island of Ios, featuring traditional tavernas and modern seaside eateries. The activity connects visitors with local chefs who use Cycladic ingredients such as wild greens, fresh fish, and barrel-aged wines. It operates across the island's main port, Chora, and the quieter beach settlements like Mylopotas.
What to expect
- A typical session lasts 2 to 3 hours and includes a seated multi-course meal with a local wine pairing
- Guests visit a working fish market in the port before cooking their chosen catch with a taverna chef
- Each booking covers a starter, a main dish, and a dessert, with vegetarian alternatives using local cheeses and pulses
- Sessions run at sunset, allowing diners to watch the caldera-facing terrace as the lights of Chora come on
- The programme suits solo travellers and small groups, with tables shared only on request
- A printed menu card lists the farm or fishing boat that supplied each ingredient, traceable to the source
