Paragliding in Tías is a tandem paragliding flight launched from the volcanic slopes above the resort town of Tías on Lanzarote's south-east coast. The flight lasts 20-30 minutes, soaring along the cliff edges with views over the Atlantic Ocean, the airport runway, and the whitewashed settlements of Puerto del Carmen. The landing occurs on the beach at Playa Quemada, with the entire excursion taking roughly two hours from pickup to drop-off.
What to expect
- Tandem flight of 20-30 minutes with a certified pilot, plus a 10-minute pre-flight briefing on launch technique and landing posture.
- Includes all equipment: harness, helmet, and glider, with a GoPro camera mounted on a selfie stick for optional footage purchase after landing.
- The launch point sits at 300 metres altitude on the Montaña de las Moscas ridge, offering a direct view of the Isla de Lobos and Fuerteventura on clear days.
- The flight path follows the coastline northwards, passing over the salt flats of Janubio and the black-sand coves of the Los Ajaches Natural Park.
- Suitable for first-time flyers and those with no prior experience; minimum age is 8 years and maximum weight is 100 kg.
- The full activity, including transfer from the Tías town centre meeting point, takes 2 hours, with flights operating daily from 10:00 to 16:00 depending on wind conditions.
