Campsites in Tazacorte are designated tent pitches along the western coast of La Palma, near the town of Tazacorte. They sit close to black-sand beaches and the banana plantation terraces that line the lower slopes of the island. The sites offer basic facilities such as cold-water taps and portable toilet points, with the Atlantic Ocean visible from most pitches.
What to expect
- Pitches are first-come, first-served and typically hold up to 20 tents per site, with no advance booking system
- Each pitch includes a flat, sandy or grassy area of roughly 3 by 4 metres, with a windbreak wall on the seaward side
- Facilities on site are limited to a cold-water standpipe and a chemical toilet disposal point; there are no showers or electric hook-ups
- The campsites sit within a 10-minute walk of Tazacorte's seafront promenade, where you can buy food and drinking water
- Suitable for self-sufficient campers with their own tent, sleeping bag, and cooking stove; not suitable for caravans or campervans
- Open year-round, but the best conditions are from April to October when daytime temperatures range between 22°C and 28°C
