These sites sit near the island’s volcanic pine forests and banana plantations, offering direct access to hiking trails and coastal viewpoints. Campers use them as a base for exploring the Aridane Valley and the Cumbre Vieja ridge.
What to expect
- Pitches are typically unmarked and set on compacted volcanic soil, with no electricity or water hookups at most locations
- Each site includes a basic fire ring or stone barbecue pit, but you must carry in your own firewood and drinking water
- The campsites are open year-round, with a maximum stay of 3 consecutive nights per site
- You will see the Atlantic Ocean from most pitches, and the sun sets directly over the sea between 18:00 and 21:00 depending on season
- Suitable for self-sufficient campers with tents or roof-top tents; campervans over 5 metres long are not admitted
- Night temperatures drop to 10-14°C even in summer, so a 3-season sleeping bag is required
