Speed
About
Found on Kyushu, SPEED sits at 1 Chome-27-12 Shirafuji, Minami Ward, Kumamoto, 861-4112, Japan, in the south of the island. The city of Kumamoto gives the venue a mainland base that is straightforward to reach from Fukuoka, Nagasaki and Kagoshima.
Kumamoto also places SPEED within easy range of Beppu, Yufuin, Miyazaki and Sasebo, so a stop here slots naturally into a wider tour of Kyushu. The venue trades in motorcycle goods and services, and its standing rests on a 4.9 out of 5 average drawn from 8 reviews, a small but emphatic set of scores. Riders passing through the prefecture can treat the shop as a practical halt between the island's larger towns.
Opening hours are not published, so timing a visit around a phone call ahead is sensible. With just 8 reviews behind it, SPEED keeps a low profile, and the shop front on Shirafuji is the clearest way to find it.
Kyushu's rainy season, tsuyu, arrives around June and runs to mid-July, so riders planning a summer trip should build in wet-weather gear. Japanese is the everyday language, and a few phrases smooth exchanges in smaller shops away from the big cities.
