About this experience

Language Schools in Kanala is a Greek language instruction program located in the coastal village of Kanala on the island of Kythnos. The school offers structured courses for adults and teenagers, combining classroom lessons with local immersion activities. Classes are held in a restored stone building near the harbour, with a maximum of eight students per group.

What to expect

Courses run for one to four weeks, with 20 hours of tuition per week in groups of up to eight students.
Each enrolment includes a coursebook, a placement test on the first morning, and a certificate of completion.
Daily conversation practice takes place in local cafés and shops, where students order in Greek and interact with residents.
Weekly cultural sessions cover Greek cuisine, music, and island history, led by a local historian.
Suitable for beginners through advanced learners, with separate classes for teenagers (13-17) and adults (18+).
The school provides free Wi-Fi, a small library of Greek literature, and a shaded courtyard for breaks between lessons.
