Restaurants & Dining in Tha Khao Beach is the collective of eateries along the sand on Koh Yao Yai's western shore. It offers casual Thai seafood and grilled dishes at wooden tables set directly on the beach. The dining area is open-air, with views of the Andaman Sea and nearby islands.
What to expect
- Open-air seating on the sand, with tables shaded by thatched umbrellas and a view of the sea.
- Menu focuses on freshly caught seafood, including grilled prawns, squid, and whole fish, priced per kilogram.
- Most restaurants serve meals from 11:00 to 21:00, with no reservation needed for walk-in groups.
- Diners can watch the sunset while eating, as the beach faces west.
- Vegetarian options are limited to a few stir-fried vegetable and tofu dishes, plus fried rice.
- Cash is the primary payment method; ATMs are not on the beach, so bring Thai baht.
