Manoh Pier Restaurants & Dining is the primary cluster of casual seafood eateries and coffee stalls located at the southern ferry terminal of Koh Yao Yai. The pier-side kitchens serve freshly landed crab, squid, and snapper grilled over charcoal, with tables set directly on the sand. This dining area operates from early morning until sunset, catering to day-trippers and island residents alike.
What to expect
- Meals are served at open-air wooden tables within 10 metres of the pier's mooring pontoons, with direct views of ferry arrivals and departures.
- Most kitchens display the day's catch on ice blocks at the front counter; you select the fish or shellfish by weight, and it is grilled or fried within 20 minutes.
- A standard meal for two with three dishes and rice costs between 400 and 600 Thai baht, including a cold bottle of local beer or fresh coconut.
- Breakfast options from 07:00 include khao tom (rice soup) with salted egg and Thai-style omelettes, plus strong iced coffee from the adjacent stall.
- The busiest service window is 11:30 to 13:30, when longtail boats from Koh Yao Noi arrive with passengers seeking a quick lunch before the afternoon ferry.
- The dining area suits families and backpackers; there are no high chairs or western menus, and payment is cash-only in Thai baht.
