Hotels & Resorts in Koh Yao Yai Village offers a range of accommodation options on the quiet island of Koh Yao Yai, Phang Nga Bay. The village serves as a base for beachfront stays and jungle-view lodgings, with direct access to local piers and longtail boat services. Guests choose this area for its low-rise buildings and slower pace compared to Phuket or Krabi.
What to expect
- Accommodation types include private pool villas, bungalows, and family rooms, with most properties set within 100 metres of the beach.
- Standard check-in is from 2 PM and check-out by 11 AM; many resorts offer free shuttle boats to Koh Yao Noi or Phuket's Bang Rong Pier.
- On-site facilities typically include an outdoor saltwater pool, a Thai restaurant serving seafood, and bicycle rental for exploring the island's rubber plantations.
- Guests can book guided kayak trips to the nearby Hong Islands or mangrove tours, with departures directly from the village beach.
- The village has a small night market (open Wednesdays and Saturdays) selling grilled fish and local sweets, a 5-minute walk from most resorts.
- This area suits travellers seeking quiet beaches and nature activities, but note that ATMs and medical clinics are limited; the nearest hospital is on Koh Yao Noi.
