Camel Riding in Tha Khao Beach is a guided camel trek along the sandy shore of Tha Khao Beach on Koh Yao Yai, a quiet island in Phang Nga Bay. Riders sit atop a camel and follow a set route that passes through beachside palm groves and shallow tidal flats. The activity offers a rare chance to interact with camels in a tropical coastal setting.
What to expect
- Ride lasts approximately 30 minutes, with a trained handler leading each camel along the beach and through palm-lined paths.
- Includes a brief introduction to camel behaviour and a photo stop where the handler takes pictures with your own camera or phone.
- Suitable for first-time riders and children aged 5 and up; helmets are provided for riders under 12.
- Each ride is limited to one or two riders per camel, with a maximum weight of 100 kg per rider.
- You will see the Andaman Sea from the beach, as well as nearby limestone karst islands, during the ride.
- The activity operates daily from 9:00 to 17:00, with no booking required for walk-ins, though groups of 6 or more should arrive early to avoid waiting.
