Koh Phi Phi forms part of Thailand's island group, where the climate is tropical and shaped by two monsoons; the Andaman coast is generally at its best from roughly November to April. Thai island cooking centres on fresh seafood, curries, noodles and tropical fruit, so meals around a stay tend to be locally rooted. Reaching Thailand's islands usually involves flights, ferries and speedboats from the mainland, and the main language is Thai, with English common in tourist areas. Phi Phi Leh lies among the nearby places, and the guest house fits naturally into a wider island itinerary.
