Churches in Phi Phi Don are a small collection of Christian places of worship on the island of Koh Phi Phi, Thailand, serving the local expatriate and tourist community. These churches offer regular Sunday services and occasional gatherings in a tropical island setting. They provide a quiet space for prayer and fellowship away from the main beach areas.
What to expect
- Attend a Sunday service lasting approximately 60 to 90 minutes, conducted in English or Thai depending on the congregation.
- Visit the main Protestant church near the village centre, identifiable by its simple wooden cross and whitewashed exterior.
- Join a midweek Bible study or prayer meeting, typically held on Wednesday evenings in a small air-conditioned room.
- Observe the blend of local Thai Christian customs with Western liturgical practices during holiday services such as Easter and Christmas.
- Meet a congregation of fewer than 50 regular members, including Thai residents, foreign workers, and long-stay tourists.
- Suitable for solo travellers or families seeking a familiar religious service while on the island, with no dress code beyond modest attire.
