About
City Mansion, on Koh Lanta, sits at 199 เกาะลันตาใหญ่ Ko Lanta District, Krabi 81150, Thailand, in the Krabi province of southern Thailand. First-time visitors will find a hotel on the island, with Klong Dao, Long Beach, Klong Nin and Klong Tob among the beaches within reach. The island's west coast road links the main beaches, so guests can move between Saladan, Klong Dao, Long Beach and Kantiang Bay without difficulty. Long Beach and Klong Nin are the longest stretches of sand, while Bamboo Bay and Klong Tob remain quieter. Old Town, on the east coast, is the island's historic settlement.
Reaching Koh Lanta is straightforward from the mainland, with ferries and speedboats connecting the island to the Thai coast. The island is served by road from the mainland via two car ferries.
Thailand's southwest monsoon brings rain from around May to October, followed by a drier, cooler period, so the months outside the wet season suit beach stays best. Thai cooking uses fish sauce, shrimp paste, coconut milk, lemongrass and chillies, with rice as the staple, and the island's restaurants reflect that southern style.
