Hotels & Resorts in Bang Bao is the collective term for the accommodation options lining the working fishing village of Bang Bao on Koh Chang's south-west coast. These properties range from simple wooden bungalows on stilts over the sea to full-service resorts with private piers and swimming pools. The area serves as the primary departure point for snorkelling trips to the nearby islands of Koh Yak and Koh Wai.
What to expect
- Most properties sit directly over the water on stilts, with rooms accessed via the village's long wooden walkway
- Standard check-in is from 2pm and check-out by 11am, with reception staff available from 8am to 10pm
- Each room includes a private balcony with sea views, an en-suite bathroom with hot water, and a ceiling fan or air conditioning
- Guests can walk to the village's seafood restaurants, massage parlours, and dive shops within 5 minutes of any property
- Resort guests receive a complimentary breakfast of Thai-style eggs, rice soup, and fresh fruit served on a shared deck
- The accommodation suits travellers who want direct boat access for day trips, as most piers launch snorkelling tours at 9am daily
