Pelagos Apartments
About
Found on Kefalonia, Pelagos Apartments sits in Skala Kefalonias, Kefalonia 280 86, on the island's south-eastern coast. Reaching it from Argostoli, Lixouri, Sami, Fiskardo, Assos or Poros is straightforward by road, and Myrtos Beach lies along the same coast.
Skala is the immediate setting, a resort village that fills through the summer season. The property is an apartment stay, and its website at http://www.pelagos-apartments.com/ is its own online reference. A 4.7/5 score from 88 reviews places it among the better-received stays on this part of Kefalonia.
The meltemi, a strong northerly wind, blows across the Aegean in summer and can delay ferries. The islands split between the Aegean and the Ionian, and Lefkada is joined to the mainland by a bridge.
Monk seals and loggerhead turtles live around the Greek islands, and many have protected nesting beaches. Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Venetian remains are found across the islands, from Delos to the old town of Rhodes, so a stay here can sit alongside a day of sightseeing. The apartment format suits travellers who want a base in the south-east rather than a hotel on the coast.
