Camel Riding in Kapas Island is a guided camel trek along the sandy shoreline of Kapas Island, Kapas, a small island off Terengganu's east coast. Riders sit atop a trained camel for a 15-minute loop that passes coconut palms and clear shallow water. The activity operates daily from 10am to 6pm, with helmets and a safety briefing provided before each ride.
What to expect
- Ride lasts 15 minutes per person, covering a 200-metre stretch of beach between the jetty and the rocky headland
- Each camel carries one rider at a time, with a handler walking alongside for control and support
- Includes a camel-feeding session with 500 grams of grass after the ride, allowing close contact with the animal
- Suitable for children aged 5 and above, with a maximum rider weight of 90 kilograms
- Riders receive a laminated photo card of their camel's name and breed, such as 'Raja' or 'Siti', as a keepsake
- The activity starts from the Kapas Island Beach Hut reception, where you sign a liability waiver and receive a numbered wristband
