About this experience

Spa & Massage in Nari Basin is a wellness treatment facility located within the volcanic crater basin of Ulleungdo, South Korea. The spa uses locally sourced mineral water and traditional Korean massage techniques to relieve muscle fatigue from hiking the island's steep trails. Treatments are offered in private rooms with views of the basin's farmland and surrounding peaks.

What to expect

Each massage session lasts 60 minutes, with options for 30-minute add-ons for feet or shoulders
Therapists use warm basalt stones heated in mineral water, a method specific to Ulleungdo's volcanic geology
Facility includes a foot bath area with water drawn from the basin's natural springs, open before and after treatments
Suitable for adults and teenagers over 16; not recommended for pregnant women or those with acute back injuries
All sessions include a 10-minute herbal tea break with locally grown omija (schisandra) berries
You will be asked to complete a brief health questionnaire on arrival, and towels, robes, and lockers are provided
