About this experience

Supermarkets & Groceries in Mandeville is a practical guide to the town's main food retail outlets, located in the capital of Manchester Parish, Jamaica. It covers the range of local and imported products available, from fresh produce to household staples, across several stores in the town centre and its outskirts. Shoppers can expect a mix of large chain supermarkets and smaller family-run shops, each with its own specialities and pricing.

What to expect

Visit major chains like Hi-Lo and PriceSmart for bulk items and international brands, alongside local shops such as Loshusan Supermarket for Jamaican goods.
Find fresh ackee, breadfruit, and callaloo at the Mandeville Market, held daily but busiest on Saturdays, with vendors selling from early morning.
Expect air-conditioned aisles in the larger stores, with trolleys and baskets provided, and checkout lines that move quickly during weekday mornings.
Purchase locally produced honey, coffee, and hot pepper sauce at several outlets, often sourced from Manchester's surrounding farms.
Most supermarkets open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 20:00, with reduced hours on Sundays; some close by 18:00 on public holidays.
Parking is available at the larger stores, but street parking in the town centre is limited; consider walking between shops in the compact downtown area.
