Paragliding in Discovery Bay is a tandem flight activity launched from the hills above Discovery Bay, Jamaica, with a landing on the beach. It is one of the few coastal paragliding sites on the island, offering a direct view of the bay's turquoise water and the surrounding limestone cliffs. The flight lasts between 15 and 20 minutes, depending on wind conditions on the day of the booking.
What to expect
- Tandem flight with a certified pilot, lasting 15 to 20 minutes from takeoff to beach landing
- Includes all harness, helmet, and safety equipment, plus a brief ground school on launch technique
- You will soar at altitudes between 300 and 600 metres, with the bay, the town, and the coral reef visible below
- Suitable for first-time flyers and those with no prior experience; minimum age is 8 years and maximum weight is 110 kilograms
- Takeoff is from a grassy hilltop at 150 metres elevation, with a short 4x4 ride to the launch site from the meeting point
- Each flight is followed by a photo and video package available for purchase, taken from a camera mounted on the pilot's helmet
