About this experience

What to expect

• Accommodation formats span boutique guesthouses with 10-20 rooms to large resorts with 100+ rooms, with stays typically booked per night or as all-inclusive packages.
• On-site amenities commonly include private beach coves, freshwater pools, and restaurants serving jerk pork, ackee and saltfish, and fresh snapper from local fishermen.
• Guests can arrange boat trips from hotel docks to Monkey Island, the Blue Lagoon's 60-metre-deep spring, or rafting on the Rio Grande bamboo rafts.
• Many properties offer guided hikes to Reach Falls or Somerset Falls, with entry fees and transport included in resort activity bundles.
• The lodging suits couples and small groups prioritising seclusion, as most resorts are set on headlands with no adjacent commercial strip.
• Some historic hotels, such as the former Trident Castle estate, include on-site art galleries and sculpture gardens open to registered guests.
