About this experience

Artisan Markets in Mandeville is a weekly gathering of local craftspeople and food producers in the central Jamaican town of Mandeville. The market operates every Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Manchester Parish Centre car park. Vendors sell handmade ceramics, woven straw baskets, hot pepper sauces, and fresh tropical fruit.

What to expect

Browse 25 to 30 vendor stalls arranged in a single loop, with most items priced between 500 and 3,000 Jamaican dollars.
Watch a live woodcarving demonstration by a local craftsman using mahogany and cedar, typically lasting 20 minutes.
Sample and purchase small-batch coffee roasted in the nearby Blue Mountains, with tasting cups offered at three of the stalls.
Meet the makers directly; each vendor provides a short explanation of their production process, from clay throwing to fabric dyeing.
Suitable for families with children, as the market includes a shaded play area and a craft table where kids can paint their own wooden ornaments.
Plan for a 60 to 90 minute visit; the market is fully outdoors with covered sections, and cash is the only accepted payment method.
