Howdens Joinery

About

In Isle of Wight, Howdens Joinery occupies a unit at 56 Manners View in Newport, the island's main town. The venue deals in kitchens, with the depot serving tradespeople and homeowners across the island. Its website, https://www.howdens.com/find-a-depot/isle-of-wight, provides further reference for the business.

First-time visitors should expect a trade-focused depot rather than a retail showroom, with the Manners View address placing it on an industrial estate in Newport. Guests have given Howdens Joinery 4.6 out of 5 from 73 reviews, a strong record for a building supplies business. Ryde, Cowes, Sandown and Shanklin are the other main towns on the island, and Newport sits centrally between them.

Summer brings long daylight hours and crowded ferries, while winter sailings are often cancelled by weather, so a visit is easier to plan in the warmer months. Rain falls throughout the year on British islands, and Atlantic gales are common in autumn and winter.

English is the main language, with Welsh on Anglesey and Scottish Gaelic on some Hebridean islands. Standing stones, brochs and early Christian chapels survive on many British islands, and the Isle of Wight has its own share of historic sites.
