British islands are reached by car ferries, passenger ferries and, in some cases, scheduled flights, so crossings need booking ahead in peak season. Standing stones, brochs and early Christian chapels survive on many British islands, and the Isle of Man's own sites reward a day's exploring. Puffins, guillemots, razorbills and Manx shearwaters breed on British island cliffs and offshore islets. Regency Hotel gives guests a Douglas base with a 4.6 out of 5 rating behind it.
