Iceland's weather shifts quickly, with wind, rain and fog possible on the same day, so a late-afternoon stop suits the climate. Puffins nest in burrows on Icelandic islands from spring and leave again by late summer. Skyr, rye bread baked in geothermal ground and fermented shark are traditional Icelandic foods worth trying while travelling here.
