Paragliding in Mandraki is a tandem paragliding flight launched from the hills above Mandraki Bay on the island of Hydra. The activity offers a motor-free glide over the Aegean Sea with views of the Hydra coastline and the Peloponnese mainland. Flights are conducted by a certified pilot and are subject to wind conditions on the day.
What to expect
- Tandem flight with a certified pilot, lasting approximately 15–20 minutes from takeoff to landing.
- Includes all safety gear (harness, helmet) and a pre-flight briefing on takeoff and landing procedures.
- Takeoff from a designated slope at 300 metres above sea level, with a short hike to the launch site.
- Landing occurs on the pebble beach at Mandraki, adjacent to the harbour tavernas.
- Suitable for first-time flyers and those without prior experience; minimum age is 12 years and minimum weight is 35 kg.
- Flights run daily from 10:00 to 18:00, but are postponed or cancelled if wind speeds exceed 25 km/h.
