Hotels & Resorts in Mandraki is a curated collection of waterfront lodgings on the Hydra harbour's western edge, where stone-built mansions and boutique inns line the pebbled shore. The area offers direct access to swimming platforms and tavernas, with most properties featuring sea-view terraces and traditional Cycladic architecture. Guests stay within a five-minute walk of the town's main port, yet enjoy a quieter setting than the central harbour front.
What to expect
- Accommodation ranges from restored 18th-century captain's houses to modern suites, each with private balconies overlooking the Saronic Gulf
- Most properties include breakfast with local honey, yogurt, and fresh bread, served on shaded verandas
- Guests swim from the rocky ledges directly below the hotels, with ladders and sunbeds provided by the properties
- The location suits travellers who prefer a short stroll to Hydra's restaurants and galleries over staying in the busy port centre
- Rooms typically include air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and daily housekeeping, with some offering kitchenettes for self-catering
- Check-in is usually after 2 PM, and luggage is transported by hand or donkey from the ferry dock, as no vehicles operate on the island
