Dance Studios in Hydra Town offers structured dance classes within the island's only car-free settlement, located near the harbour promenade. The studio provides group and private sessions in Greek folk, contemporary, and ballet styles, taught by certified instructors. Classes run year-round in a stone-built venue with wooden floors and mirrored walls, accommodating both beginners and advanced dancers.
What to expect
- Sessions last 60 to 90 minutes, with a 10-minute warm-up and a final performance of a short choreography
- Greek folk dance classes include live bouzouki accompaniment on Friday evenings, with traditional costumes available for loan
- Private one-on-one coaching is available for wedding first dances or competition preparation, with video playback for technique review
- The studio's open-air rooftop terrace serves as the practice space for summer sunset classes, overlooking the harbour
- Children's classes (ages 6–12) run on Saturday mornings and include rhythm games and basic step patterns
- All levels are welcome; beginners receive a printed step chart and a list of recommended footwear for the stone floors
