Colony
About
COLONY, on Hokkaido, occupies a basement space in Sapporo's Chuo Ward, at Minami 7 Jonishi, 4 Chome−2-6 B1F. First-time visitors should expect a nightclub setting where the action unfolds below street level, so the entrance is easy to walk past if you are not watching for it. The venue draws a steady crowd that has pushed its rating to 4.1/5 across 101 reviews.
That score reflects a following built up over time rather than a one-off spike, and the review count suggests a venue that regulars return to. Sapporo sits within easy reach of Otaru and Hakodate by rail, making a night out here feasible for travellers based in those towns.
The website at http://www.colony6.com/ is the venue's online home. Photos on the page show the interior before you commit to a visit. Its basement position in Chuo Ward places it among the central streets of Sapporo.
Japan's rainy season, tsuyu, typically falls between June and mid-July, so visitors planning summer trips should pack accordingly. Sapporo's grid layout makes taxis and the subway straightforward for getting back after a late finish.
