KukuAu Studio
About
Found on Hawaii (Big Island), KukuAu Studio sits at 43 Kukuau St in Hilo, on the windward side of the island. Reaching it from Kailua-Kona means a drive across the island, while Hilo itself, Volcano, Waimea, the Kohala Coast, Puna, Captain Cook and Kona lie within range for a night out. The studio is a live music venue, and it has built a local following on the strength of its programme. A 4.6 out of 5 average from 51 reviews reflects the regard in which it is held by those who attend. It is known for putting on shows in an intimate setting, where the audience sits close to the performers. Spam, rice and macaroni salad appear widely in Hawaiian home cooking and lunch plates, so a meal before a show is easy to find nearby. Since no road or regular ferry links the Hawaiian islands, travel between them is by air. Details of upcoming shows are posted at kukuaustudio.com.
