About this experience

Private Chef in Pahoa is a personalised in-home dining service on the Big Island of Hawaii, where a professional chef prepares a multi-course meal using local ingredients. The chef arrives at your rental or residence with all equipment and provisions, cooking and serving a custom menu tailored to your dietary preferences. This activity suits travellers seeking a private, restaurant-quality meal without leaving their accommodation.

What to expect

The chef conducts a pre-event consultation by phone or email to design a menu around your tastes, allergies, and group size.
A typical session lasts 2.5 to 3 hours, including preparation, cooking, and table service for up to 12 guests.
All ingredients are sourced from Pahoa farmers' markets and local fisheries, with the menu reflecting seasonal Big Island produce.
The chef brings portable cooktops, knives, and serving ware, and cleans the kitchen fully before departure.
Guests watch the cooking process from an open kitchen or counter, and can request a live demonstration of Hawaiian poke or taro preparation.
This service suits families, couples, and small groups celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, or simply wanting a relaxed dinner at home.
