About this experience

Festivals in Waikoloa is a recurring programme of cultural celebrations held in the Waikoloa resort area on the Big Island of Hawaii. The events showcase Hawaiian music, hula, and craft traditions against the backdrop of the Kohala Coast. Each festival brings together local artisans, performers, and food vendors in a public, family-friendly setting.

What to expect

Festivals typically run from late morning to early evening, with a main stage schedule of hula performances and live Hawaiian bands.
Attendees can watch demonstrations of traditional crafts such as lauhala weaving, kapa making, and wood carving by Big Island artisans.
Food booths offer local plate lunches, poke bowls, and shave ice, with prices ranging from $5 to $15 per item.
The events include a craft fair with 20 to 40 vendors selling handmade jewellery, clothing, and printed textiles.
Children's activities include lei-making stations and hula lessons, suitable for ages 4 to 12.
The festivals are held outdoors on grass or paved plazas, with free general admission and paid parking available at nearby resort lots.
