Coffee Shops in Hilo

About this experience

What to expect

• Visit 4 to 6 independently owned coffee shops within a 1.5-mile radius of downtown Hilo, with walking time between stops of 5 to 10 minutes.
• Each stop includes a tasting flight of at least three coffee varieties, such as Ka'u, Kona, and Hilo-grown beans, with a brief explanation of their profiles.
• Observe a live roasting demonstration at one participating roastery, where you can see the beans change colour and hear the first crack.
• Receive a printed map and a punch card that earns a free 12-ounce bag of coffee after visiting all listed shops.
• Suitable for coffee enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike; the tour takes 2 to 3 hours at a relaxed pace, with seating available at every venue.
• Each shop offers an alternative non-coffee drink, such as local herbal tea or chocolate, for those who prefer not to drink caffeine.
